The world outside is candy coated with cupcakes, sprinkled with ashes, and frosted with the deception that goes on in between your favorite show; it penetrated the eyes of our being with ridicule and fate, bringing out a cynical view that we all possess and hold dear; it makes us want to hate, bringing races, faces, places that I have never heard of; diseases with acronymic names pleasantly snug within their beds; I never thought this would come to this, but when you called me the other day, I just had to forget everything and die; anchor myself for the fall and feel the wind under my wings as it carried me away to use that old cliche; I thought that you cared, but found only my watery image glaring back at me after you hung up the phone; what that means I don't even know, but its the only thing that I am left with; the trees seem so fragile under the heavy blankets of ice and rain. In this time, I am here again. |
